New Level2 Process Control System at Acerbrag to improve production process and quality
Acerbrag (Votorantim Group, Argentina) chooses Danieli Automation to upgrade existing automation with a state-of-the-art Danieli DIGI&MET solution

Acerbrag from Bragado, member of Votorantim Group, one of the influential steel producers in Argentina, has chosen Danieli Automation and Digi&Met to carry out the new Level 2 for process control system in their production facilities. Long and successful collaboration in the past led Acerbrag to choose Danieli as a reliable partner on its path to modernizing and digitalizing its production capabilities. The existing process control system will be upgraded and substituted with a state-of-the-art, new Daniel Automation Level 2 solution, reinforced with Q3intelligence, a powerful tool for data analysis directed toward monitoring and improving the production process.
The system will be hosted on the latest virtualized High Availability VMWare cluster server solution, including various Danieli Automation technological packages, such as Q-EAF (Electrical Furnace control system), Q-REF(Refining process control), Q-ART (Quality Assessment in Real-Time), Q-MIX (Tundish Mix Steel Tracking), Q-CUT (Cut Scheduling and Optimization), and will correlate with newly purchased Electric furnace electrode regulator system Q-REG.
Lats but not least, all the main pulpits will be provided with Area Performance Indicator (API) and Plant Performance Indicator (PPI), which provides a detailed view of main process variable, relevant KPIs, the most significant trends, estimated time to end and an advanced monitoring system that allows the production manager to obtain an overall vision of the given process area and of the upstream/downstream ones.
The modernization project is planned to be carried out in two phases; the first phase includes the Meltshop plant (Electrical Arc Furnace, Ladle Furnace and Caster Machine), while the second phase will be carried out at the Rolling Mill plant after the phase one completion. The start of commissioning activities is scheduled for May 2022.
