ÇELSANTAŞ Çelik, based in Karabük, Turkey, has awarded Danieli Automation an order covering the supply of the technological electrical and automation equipment for their new light section rolling mill.

Established in 1979 and a member of the Yücel Group, ÇELSANTAŞ produces various dimensions of angles and IPN-UPN profiles for both domestic and export markets, with a capacity of 150,000 tons per year.

ÇELSANTAŞ will move their existing production facility, located in the city center, to the Karabük Organized Industrial Area, some 10 km out of the town, where they will build a new plant equipped with state-of-the-art technology, machines and automation systems.

Danieli Automation has been chosen to supply the main E&A equipment for the new rolling mill, consisting of main AC motors and drives for the rolling stands as well as the Level 1 automation systems (including automation PLCs, HMI workstations, main control desks for pulpit operations and shop floor panels for local control) for the entire plant.

The startup of the new rolling mill is scheduled for the first half of 2020 and will allow ÇELSANTAŞ to increase their domestic and export sales by doubling the production capacity while maintaining high quality standards.
