Tata Steel UK has awarded Danieli Automation for the revamping of CAPL (Continuous Annealing Processing Line) in Trostre works, South Wales.

The revamping activities will include the complete line automation replacement, considering new Level 1 system based on the latest platform available in the market, new MCC cabinets and new DC converters for the existing strip transportation motors (more than 140 motors, with individual armature control!).

Moreover, the supply will also include the related support for the site portion, considering the complete commissioning of the new equipment and the supervision to erection activities provided by Customer.

The new automation system, designed in order to be in compliance with Industry 4.0 principles, will consider the safety logics provision for future add-on.

This is the second big order in row in less than one year and enforces the strong relationship established between the two companies, started one year ago with the order for the revamping of HDGL No.6 in Shotton works, where commissioning is expected on December 2020.
