Process Control Systems

Hot strip mills process control automation systems allow the retrieval of rolling practices, technological and production data required by calculation models that support process setup and control performing:
Tunnel furnace: thermal models, reheating optimization and equalization curves.
Edger: width draft and spread, dog bone models.
Hot strip Mill: roughing and finishing rolling strategy, rolling force and torque models, strip temperature model, tapered rolling, yield stress, roll wear, roll thermal and deflection model, roll profile, housing stretch models, laminar cooling section, coiling temperature model.
Quality Assessment in Real-Time (QUART) on the entire plant.
 Coil Quality Estimator (CQE), real-time assessment and control of mechanical properties for hot rolled coils.


Equipment Control Systems

Hot strip mill equipment control automation systems are based on distributed architecture providing clean separation of application modules and easy maintenance.
PLC units are used for sequence control and interlocking while high performance open and closed loop controls are implemented on HiPAC, a multiprocessor system.

Tunnel Furnace: furnace material tracking, combustion control.
Edger: (AWC) automatic width control, short stroke control (SSC).
